There is a rainy season in early summer, and typhoons hit parts of the country every year during late summer. The climate of the northern island of Hokkaido is colder, and snow storms occur frequently during winter. In Okinawa, on the other hand, the mean temperature of January is a warm 16 degrees Celsius.

RECREATION: In October 2001, a completely renovated Okura Health Club was reopened to club members. The renovations resulted in an overall increase in facility size of 20 percent to 2,176m2, and the club reopened with new, earlier operating hours.

The renovated club features a gym equipped with treadmills, exercise bikes, and many types of weight machines; a six-lane, 20-meter-long pool with a depth ranging from 1.1 to 1.2 meters; an open-air deck where members can relax and even get a tan; and a bath with Jacuzzi and steam sauna.

After a good workout, the Club Salon offers the perfect environment for unwinding, and a healthy selection of beverages and light meals are available.
